How Much Do I Spend On Childrens Golf Clubs?
Reader Question: I’m putting my son into golf lessons at the local driving range and wanted to get him a decent beginner set to keep him excited and his interest level up. I don’t want to spend a fortune on the clubs since he’s still only 8 and I want to make sure he learns to take care of his “new clubs” properly. In any event, with all the childrens golf clubs available, I’m wondering how much to invest in a set.

Answer: I started my son out with golf when he was 5, and I myself got started at age 9, so I can talk about this relatively confidently. You can pretty much pick any set at this age as long as they are age appropriate (sets at this stage are generally made for their age, not by length).
But the best thing to do is probably to ask your son’s golf instructor (or your local golf pro) to see what they recommend. You can always buy them elsewhere (than your local pro shop) to save money.
I purchased my son’s first couple of sets from eBay since they have a great selection of new and used childrens golf clubs.
